For WAVE UNION’s 2020 FW season, I led the visual development of the ‘Environmental Conference Collection.’ This project commemorates historic global sustainability milestones—the 1972 Stockholm, 1992 Rio, and 1994 London conferences.
My objective was to strategically reinterpret these heritage elements through a contemporary design lens, successfully balancing nostalgic aesthetics with modern sensibilities.

Challenges

Modernising Vintage Aesthetics :
Reimagining heritage design elements (typography, palette, layout) to align with contemporary design sensibilities.

Balancing Context & Appeal :
Synthesis of historical environmental advocacy and modern visual storytelling to drive consumer engagement.
Solutions

Balance :
Achieving a synergy between vintage elements and modern aesthetics.

Friendly :
Creating an approachable visual language by blending college-style nostalgia with modern city-souvenir concepts.

Familiarity :
Ensuring brand longevity by balancing nostalgic heritage with trend-forward visual storytelling.

Outcome & Impact

Established as a Signature Collection:
The Environmental Summit Collection became the definitive line for WAVE UNION,
maintaining steady popularity for over five years since its launch.

International Market Expansion:
Successfully expanded the brand’s footprint into global markets, including a major Japanese fashion platform named '60%', ‘beauty and Youth’ and various domestic/international offline select shops.

Brand Identity Legacy:
Defined a core visual language for WAVE UNION, with design elements from this collection becoming permanent references for the brand’s subsequent seasonal strategies.
